How can a professional organizer help me?
My job is not just to "tidy up" your space - which would be a temporary fix - but to make it work for you as efficiently as possible. If you are tripping over things, rummaging through stacks of paper, or digging through drawers in search of something, I can help you. The idea is to create a space that makes sense for you, and that you can maintain for the long term. Do I need to be there for the organizing session? Definitely! I will work with you to create tailored solutions for the way you want to live. I need to know what will work for you and for your family, so that we can create a system that you'll be able to maintain in the long term. Will you make me throw things away? No, I won't make you do anything. I may suggest that you don't have to hold on to something, but ultimately you are in charge of what stays and what goes -- after all, we're talking about your home and your possessions. I'm embarrassed for anyone — even an organizer — to see the messy parts of my house. That's understandable, but not necessary. I'm not coming to judge, but to problem-solve on your behalf. I am on your team, and I can help you to be proud of your space! I've never been an organized person. How can I stay organized after you leave? The entire system will be built around your specific needs, and your success depends on your ability to maintain it. So we'll make it as easy as possible. Yes, you do have to put in some effort to stay organized, but you'll find it's not as much effort as constantly searching for your things. I teach you the tools to stay organized - and these carry over into other areas of your home and your life. If you want help in maintaining the systems we put in place or when you're ready to keep moving forward with another part of your home, I will be glad to come back. How can I get my family's cooperation? The process of going from chaos to order is undoubtedly a team effort. You and I will discuss what your particular obstacles are, and those issues will inform what types of systems we create for your family. I welcome and encourage family involvement in the process. What if my spouse thinks this is unnecessary? Hiring an organizer is a big step forward, and anyone who is part of the decision process should be involved in the complimentary consultation. Then we can talk about all the benefits and areas of concern. Having an organized and effective space is good for ALL members of the household and for your family life. How much will this cost? I offer a variety of options at different price points, so you can find one that works for your budget. You can save money by purchasing a package of hours, or you can maximize flexibility with an hourly rate. Choose what works best for you. The skills you learn will last forever. |
